The Hon Michael Lee
The Hon Michael Lee, Director of Tourism Australia
Director
Michael Lee brings extensive experience to Tourism Australia’s board as a former Federal Minister. He was a member of the House of Representatives from 1984 to 2001 and served as Minister for Tourism from 1993 to 1996. He also served as Minister for Communications and the Arts and Minister for Resources.
Michael is currently Chair of the Calvary Ministries Trustee Board and Chair of Communications Alliance, the peak telecommunications industry body. He is also a director of Catholic Schools NSW. He has previously served as a director of Sydney Airport, Macquarie Airports and Country Energy.
Mr Lee holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of New South Wales. He was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Public Administration by the University of Newcastle. He lives on the Central Coast of NSW and joined the Tourism Australia Board in 2024.
